Ms. Evinger and her Europe 2008 Girls
We can read about foreign lands, watch movies about other countries, view pictures and magazines of places that we would love to travel to, but NOTHING compares to actually being in a different county and experiencing that culture. I chaperone the Europe trip because my students get to take an active, hands on approach to their education. They learn so much, and it sticks! They don’t memorize information to regurgitate it on a test, they learn about the real world and see things that they will never forget.
Being a chaperone allows me to build life-long, lasting relationships with my students. Knowing that a child feels that they can come to me if they need anything is an indescribable feeling. I want to be a positive support, and role model for the amazing students I teach. The students who travel, will remember the trip for the rest of their lives, (so will I) and it will hopefully motivate them to be the best person they can possibly be.
