KEEP Mini-Grant Program
June 19th, 2008 by benjaminThe KEEP Mini-Grant Program invites Kepner staff members to submit requests for funds that enable them to implement projects or acquire materials to enhance instructional opportunities and/or build relationships with students. These grant opportunities were introduced at the beginning of the 2006-2007 school year and grants awarded thus far have supported the following programs.
- AVID Program – supports students academically as they progress through middle and high school towards post-secondary educational opportunities.
- Young Ameritowne – supports trips to this hands-on educational program that teaches students about business, economics, and free enterprise.
- Vocal Music Program – provides music, workbooks and transportation for the school choir.
- Leadership Team – students who conduct service projects for the school and community.
- Outdoor Club – gives students the opportunity to experience and enjoy nature through organized outdoor activities directed by teachers who have expertise in various areas.
- Drama Club – students act, sing, dance, direct and work backstage on an annual musical production and visit other professional and amateur productions.
- Orchestra – funding supports the refurbishment of old instruments and the purchase of new ones.
In addition, KEEP Mini-Grant funding has been provided to assist with the purchase of athletic team jerseys, educational equipment and rewards for motivational programs.
Some of these programs are conducted after school and are only made possible by faculty volunteers.
